Why is my commercial walk-in cooler or reach-in cooler warming up above 41°F?

Common root causes include a fouled condenser coil causing high-head-pressure cutout, an iced evaporator coil from a failed defrost timer or heater, a failed evaporator fan motor, a starved thermostatic expansion valve (TXV), or a refrigerant leak. JW HVACR LLC diagnoses and repairs commercial refrigeration within 60 miles of Knoxville with a 90-Day Repair Warranty.

Why is my walk-in freezer evaporator coil iced up into a solid block?

Solid ice buildup on a walk-in evaporator usually points to an open defrost heater element, a failed defrost termination/fan-delay switch (klixon), a stuck defrost timer, a clogged or unheated condensate drain line, or moisture infiltration through torn door gaskets (10 CFR § 431.306). Never chip coil ice with sharp tools; call (865) 214-7334.

Why is my commercial ice machine running but not dropping or harvesting ice?

When an ice machine freezes a slab on the evaporator plate but fails to harvest, the most likely causes are mineral scale bridging the harvest probe or nickel/stainless grid, a sticking hot-gas harvest valve coil, low water flow across the water curtain, or high condenser head pressure.

Why is my brewery glycol chiller locking out on a freeze or low-pressure alarm?

A glycol chiller freeze alarm is typically caused by diluted USP food-grade propylene glycol concentration below 25%–30% (21 CFR § 184.1666), a plugged hydronic Y-strainer reducing glycol flow across the brazed-plate heat exchanger, an air-locked circulation pump, or a misadjusted TXV/freeze stat.
